We love reading our friends’ and families’ year in review letters, whether they sent them in the mail or put them in an Instagram caption. We love these recaps so much, we wanted to do one ourselves! Parkway had a big year in 2021, with a new brand, a new building and some very cool projects. Keep reading for all of the highlights from the last 12 months.
January: We started 2021 the same way we ended 2020—at home. In January, we planned for what we knew would be a big year, for both our clients and ourselves! And then we got to work.
February: In Western New York, February is always a bit of a slushy blur. We’re not sure anything good ever happens in February. If it did, we don’t remember it. Moving on…
March: March was a big month! We (finally) launched our rebrand, complete with a new visual identity and updated messaging. The last couple of years helped us understand what makes Parkway different and we feel like our new brand helps us explain the way we do things around here.
When you work in advertising in Buffalo, March means the American Advertising Awards. We didn’t join the festivities in person but we did take home a win in the B2B Website category for our work with Mach Architecture!
April: We launched the Martin House’s new website in April. It always feels good to see your work live but this one was special. Frank Lloyd Wright is an icon and we were honored to reimagine his designs for the digital age.
May: We must have done something exciting in May, but we have no idea what it was. Most of our time was spent building out the two big websites that launched this summer.
June: While Villa Maria College’s new website was ready to launch a little earlier, we waited until school was out for the summer to debut a site that encompasses all the college has to offer. We’d been incorporating Villa’s unique colorful collages into their ads and social media for a while; as of June, they’re part of the website too!
July: We moved into our new office in July—after 16 months at home. We adore our new home in Lancaster, just a quick walk away from Lancaster Coffee Co. and the library, and dangerously close to Lancaster’s Broadway Deli.
August: We launched some incredible websites this year, including a facelift for Eastman Machine Company’s digital footprint. The site was heavy on the technical requirements, so we got to watch Rob and Mike do their thing on this one, which is always fun (and sometimes a little nerve-wracking).
September: Jenni joined the content team this summer to help us with blog posts and social media management. Her diverse background, positive attitude and newfound love of Lancaster make her a great addition to the team!
October: Things usually start winding down during the last quarter, but not this year! We were busier than ever all fall, with websites, content, social media and more for clients both old and new.
November: Parkway got in the holiday spirit a little early this year to take part in Lancaster’s Small Business Saturday festivities. We decorated our storefront and took advantage of our tall ceilings with a 9 foot Christmas tree. It might be a little over the top but it looks so pretty, especially when it’s snowing outside!
December: Our content team continued to grow, with David joining us in December. We’re excited to put our heads together and help our clients’ succeed with content in new ways!
Well, we made it. There were definitely moments when we thought this year would never (ever) end, but here we are. We’re looking forward to longer days and kicking off some fun new projects in 2022!
